Impact

At least two users experienced issues when attempting to list Location drafts. The issue was proactively discovered by a staff member who reported through our help desk [1] that the platform was not displaying the drafts. The problem was resolved in 19.6 hours (TTF) [2].

Cause

Initially, the problem was caused by a missing reference in the To-do list with access to a specific group, which resulted in an error when retrieving specific data. This later escalated into an orphaned vulnerability because the system expected a vulnerability reference that no longer existed. The root cause was a vulnerability reported in production with an unavailable Source. To mitigate the impact, the findings were deleted, assuming this would resolve the issue. However, only the findings were removed, while the related vulnerabilities remained, leading to further inconsistencies.

Solution

All vulnerabilities associated with the issue were identified and deleted, ensuring no orphaned or inconsistent records remained in the system [3].

Conclusion
